The Daiwa Zillion SV TW G Baitcasting Reels are Daiwa's new series of low-profile Zillion reels. This totally redesigned line-up offers two primary new Daiwa technologies: SV Booster System and HyperDrive Design.

The SV Booster System is the latest iteration of Daiwa's SV Concept Spool. Specifically, it is a two-stage SV braking system that makes adjustments based on spool speed to optimize overall performance and prevent backlash. Overall, this allows the casting control you have come to know and love from the SV Spool, now with the added benefit of increased casting distance.

The HyperDrive Design consists of 4 sub-technologies: HyperDrive DigiGear, Hyper Double Support, Hyper Armed Housing, and Hyper Tough Clutch.

HyperDrive DigiGear is a brand-new gear design that makes the teeth of the gears more efficient at transferring power, therefore making the gear set feel smoother and operate with increased power, all while simultaneously reducing gear noise. Hyper Double Support is a two-bearing support system for the pinion gear to prevent flex and further facilitate smooth gear rotation and line retrieval. Lastly, Hyper Armed Housing and Hyper Tough Clutch consist of redesigned and reinforced frame and clutch mechanism.

When combined with Daiwa's existing T-Wing System (TWS) levelwind and an aluminum frame - you've got one unstoppable bass casting reel.

Best Reel Ever Made

I have an assortment of probably 35-40 baitcasting reels from Shimano, Diawa, Lews, and Abu García that are priced anywhere between $150-$400. This new Zillion is by far the absolute best baitcaster I have ever used. I would take this reel over the Metanium, Bantam, Curado DC, Tranx 300 or the $600 Steez. Diawa almost made this reel to good because I even prefer this over the top of the line Steez. You can use this reel for anything you want to. The gear and pinion mesh is like butter due to the way the pinion is supported by 2 bearings and the teeth on the gears is actually bigger compared to Shimano micro modular gears. This reel is sturdy enough for flipping and punching heavy hydrilla mats as well as casting really light weightless flukes a mile. The cast control on the Zillion is extremely easy to dial in and you could literally cast this reel at a brick wall and not backlash it. I would even consider this reel capable of casting BFS weighted lures. I cannot recommend this reel highly enough. If you are going to splurge on one reel I would definitely suggest this be the reel you buy. You will not be disappointed and probably want to replace every reel in your arsenal with the Zillion. The drag clicker on this reel comes in handy when using light lines. This reel can even replace your spinning setups for finesse applications and weightless senkos. I have this reel on a Phenix Feather 7’1” MHF and the entire combo weighs less than some of my baitcasting reels alone it’s the perfect setup for weightless applications like flukes and wacky worms and even drop shots. On a scale of 1-5 I rank this reel a 10. Buy it and thank me later you will not regret buying this reel. I bought the US version of this reel with the brass gears and pinion compared to the JDM version with aluminum gears for the durability which allows me to use it as a flipping and punching reel

One of the Best

I love mine. Mine isn't the JDM model. It makes casting fun. My only complaints are the paint gets scratched easily, but that's totally my fault and that's with all reels and the fact that mine doesn't lock fully when you engage the reel to put the thumb bar back. It double clicks sometimes when reeling. I know I got a defective one as my brother's never did this. Never sent it back b/c it still works and I love using it. I don't think this issue is common. Never heard it from any other buyer. Like the bulky feel, love the metallic look....love my casting distance. What can I say?

Absolutely stoked on this reel. I was already a Daiwa fan but this reel has taken my love to a whole new level. Jut like Brent Ehrler says in the video above, you can bomb a cast without a finger on the spool and have zero backlash when the braking system is dialed in. The drag system is also incredibly smooth, possibly the best I've experienced on a baitcaster, 5 stars for me. Will be purchasing more in the future.
